Returning home to Israel in the Spring of the early 1950s after graduating from the London School of Economics, Yosef Yaniv met his future wife Aviva on the golden beaches of Tel Aviv. A gifted musician who graduated from the Jerusalem Academy of Music, Aviva’s love for music and art captivated Yosef and soon, the pair fell in love and opened a boutique store together on Tel Aviv’s Ben Yehuda Street.
Specializing in valuable art, modest designer clothing, ornamental antiques, and high-end jewelry, Yosef and Aviva’s unique boutique became a prominent local landmark beloved and frequented by Tel Aviv’s tourists and city elite alike. Their passion for art, design, and business would later inspire their son Shai to follow in their footsteps and continue the family legacy.
From a very young age, Shai Yaniv demonstrated remarkable creativity and impressive skills in crafting unique objects, talents that his parents Yosef and Aviva, greatly encouraged. Shai grew up surrounded by art and music at his parents’ boutique, and it was there that he first discovered his passion and instincts for business and design. Knowing that he would one day join the family business, Shai spent his youth learning from his parents and honing his skills in crafting and design.
As a young adult, Shai’s first step to establishing his reputation as a world-renowned jeweler began again in his parent’s boutique, where he crafted and sold his earliest pieces. As his success grew, Shai decided to branch out and open his own studio and workshop dedicated to designing and selling high-end, luxury jewelry. Launching the YANIV label in the 1980s, Shai grew his family’s original small boutique store into an internationally recognized brand famous for its quality, luxury, and originality.
Following in his father’s footsteps after completing his army service as a combat commander in the IDF, Alon Yaniv is the latest generation to proudly join the family business. Like Shai, Alon also grew up in his family’s boutique and workshop, learning from a young age about the fascinating world of jewelry craftsmanship and discovering everything there is to know about diamonds, gems, and metalwork under his father’s expert guidance.
Raised with the same traditional business values and wisdom passed down from previous generations, today Alon joins his father in managing the family studio and workshop, working alongside Shai to bring innovation and fresh concepts to the designing table, continuing the family legacy while adding his own unique, modern spin.

YANIV's studio and workshop focus in parallel on three different facets of the jewelry creation process: design, crafting, and stone setting.

In the workshop you'll find jewelry making tools that have been in use since ancient times, alongside new and innovative work technologies that enable us to produce complex designs and high quality finishes.
Use of advanced technologies allows us to create quality jewelry at reasonable prices, jewelry that previously would only have been accessible to wealthy consumers. Use of traditional work tools alongside new tools is one of the secrets of the jewelries' distinctive charm.
The studio and workshop of Yaniv Fine Jewelry operate as a closed system, including all the means, equipment and tools required to create jewelry, from concept to finished product.
